2018-19 VCU Board of Visitors Student Representatives
Jacob Parcell (undergraduates)
Jacob will be a junior this fall majoring in anthropology and minoring business from Fredericksburg, Virginia. He is the VCU GLOBE certificate program and has been a member of the Student Budget Advisory Committee the last two years. He is Vice President of the Health Disparities Organization at VCU, and is an undergraduate teaching assistant with the Focused Inquiry program. He is an emergency department scribe trainer with the Fredericksburg Emergency Medical Alliance, an American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor with Mary Washington Healthcare and a field training officer/duty sergeant with the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad. Jacob hopes to pursue a master’s in health administration and eventually enter health care administration.
Dhruv Sethi (graduate/professional)
Dhruv is a 2015 summa cum laude graduate of VCU with a degree in psychology. He holds a Master’s in Public Health from the George Washington University, Milken Institute School of Public Health and a MBA from the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business. He is from Richmond, VA and will be starting his second year of medical school this fall. He has received numerous recognition awards including being selected as the Robins School of Business student commencement speaker, and receiving multiple scholarships at VCU, GWU and U of R. Dhruv is an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and in the past was involved with leading VCU’s Alternative Spring Break program. He serves as Vice President of the American Medical Association and Medical Society of Virginia Chapter at the VCU School of Medicine, is the President of the VCU School of Medicine Class of 2021, and Executive Vice President of Delta Epsilon Mu, Inc. He has been involved in research and has contributed to a medical textbook.
